Can a person with high metabolism gain weight?

High Metabolism and Weight Gain

A high metabolism means that you utilize calories at a faster rate; therefore you need more weight gaining nutrients and higher caloric intake than someone with a slower metabolism. If you exercise a lot, or are a naturally thin person, you may have already identified that you have a high metabolic rate. If that is the case, count your calories for a week and see how many you really are ingesting. If you aren't gaining any weight, you now have a benchmark from which to go. Once the extra calories and nutrients are maintained weight gain can be expected.

I am one in many in my family that just cant seem to gain. I have been eating peanut butter sandwiches (5 a day to be exact) Plus my regular meals and still cant gain. My father weighs 110 at 5'7, my sister 36 years old and weighs 93 and me, im 35 and weigh 95. I would really like to gain but i can only eat so much. Im so tired of being skinny. Mostly I get alot of walking done, as I dont have the time or disposable income to go to the gym. I can lift 40-50 lbs (and often do at my food service job where bulk is king) but haven't gained much muscle in the year i've worked at this job. On the weekends, when I work most, I have a hard time maintaining my 6 "meals" each day to keep energy and often find that I get lunch and dinner only. How can I find ways to maintain energy and gain weight at the same time? Oh, and I work at a healthy-lifestyle food place with smoothies of all sorts etc...
